The Prince travelled to Greece on 21 and 22 April for an official visit focusing on diplomacy, the environment and culture.
Prince Albert II began his trip on 21 April with a series of meetings with the highest Greek authorities. Discussions with Prime Minister Kyriákos Mitsotákis focused on renewable energy and marine protected areas in the Mediterranean. The President of the Republic, Konstantínos Tasoúlas, praised the Sovereign’s commitment to environmental issues, with both heads of state agreeing on the need for collective action against microplastic pollution and for the conservation of endangered species.

At City Hall, the Mayor of Athens, Háris Doúkas, presented the Prince with the City’s medal in recognition of his commitment to international dialogue and the environment.
A consulate and an olive tree
The Sovereign visited the extensive Ellinikon urban development project, whose Yacht Club, currently under construction, is aiming for the “La Belle Classe Destinations” certification from the Monaco Yacht Club. He then inaugurated the Consulate of Monaco in Greece alongside Honorary Consul Vassili Apostolopoulos, Minister for Foreign Affairs Isabelle Berro-Amadeï and Deputy Prime Minister Kostis Hatzidakis. Archbishop Ieronymos II blessed the premises. In his speech, the Prince highlighted the close ties between Monaco and Greece, two countries united by the Mediterranean and shared values, before an olive tree was planted at the entrance to the Consulate to seal this friendship.
Heading to Delphi
The following day, Prince Albert II attended the Delphi Economic Forum, where he delivered a speech at the opening session of this international gathering dedicated to major contemporary challenges. On the sidelines of the Forum, he held talks with Estonian President Alar Karis, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and the European Commissioner for Fisheries and Oceans, Kostas Kadis. The Prince concluded his visit to Greece at the museum on the archaeological site of Delphi, a major centre of Greek cultural heritage.
