Through this project, NARSA aims to facilitate the supply chain and reduce the risks of routing errors or delivery delays.
Quality of services: Modernizing the process of sorting and distributing driving licenses, registration documents and electronic registration certificates will significantly shorten the processing and delivery times of these documents. The average delivery time to Barid Bank and Barid Cash agencies should not exceed 72 hours, which will reduce the time for delivery of these documents to beneficiaries by more than two months.
Morocco will modernize the process of sorting and distributing driving licenses and electronic registration certificates with the specific objective of improving the quality of services provided to users. The official launch of this operation took place on Wednesday at the Barid Al-Maghrib sorting center in Bouskoura during a ceremony chaired by the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdessamad Kayouh.
This operation, which is part of the strategic partnership between the National Road Safety Agency (Narsa) and Barid Al-Maghrib, aims to group together in a dedicated center all of the aforementioned administrative documents as soon as they are printed by Dar As-Sikkah of Bank Al-Maghrib, then to sort them using technical tools, and to distribute them to all the branches of Barid Bank and Barid Cash, i.e. more than 700 agencies, without going through the provincial and regional services of the National Road Safety Agency. The objective is to considerably shorten the processing and delivery times of these documents.
Until now, these documents were processed at the level of provincial and regional centers under Narsa, i.e. nearly 75 service points, marked by a large number of people due to the responsibility, by officials, for both the processing of these files and other missions related to road safety.
Through this project, Narsa aims to facilitate the supply chain and reduce the risks of routing errors or delivery delays. The minister specified that thanks to this new method, the time for submitting documents will drop from two months to less than a week, explaining that the user will now be able to choose themselves the place where their request will be sent by Barid Al-Maghrib, through 700 distribution points in a first phase. Note that these sorting and distribution operations should concern more than 1.5 million documents this year, a figure which should double over the next two years. In a press release, Narsa specifies that the average delivery time to Barid Bank and Barid Cash agencies should not exceed 72 hours at most, which will reduce the time for delivery of these documents to beneficiaries by more than two months. According to the minister, this reform will also provide a concrete response to the difficulties encountered in rural areas, where delays could reach two months, in addition to the costs borne by users.
For his part, the Director General of Narsa, Benacer Boulaajoul, affirmed that this new sorting method is part of the Agency’s digital transformation strategy. He specified that this center will take care of the sorting of driving licenses and registration certificates as soon as they are recovered, thus reducing to a maximum of three days a process which previously required more than 30 days for sorting and routing to the branches of Barid Bank and Barid Cash. Mr. Boulaajoul also announced a second stage which will consist of extending this system to new services, in particular registrations carried out at car dealerships, as well as driving licenses for new holders after passing the exam. For his part, the general director of Barid Media, Fouad Zaidi, indicated that this operation, carried out in partnership with Narsa, mobilizes the joint efforts of Barid Media, the Amana services of the Barid Al-Maghrib group and the Barid Cash subsidiary to process all the cards received daily from Narsa using automated processes.
