To be free, you must first be fair

To be free, you must first be fair

“The lack of understanding, like the barrage of illegalities sown, apart from generating tremendous chaos, are leaving us an indelible mark, both due to their pressure and the imprisonment of pulses; and thus, many people are no longer masters of their own steps.”

In every awakening we have to learn to renew ourselves, to live the days without slavery of the fear and without having to give up what one wants to be. Consequently, freedom is not simply a concession that is granted to us, nor a privilege that is grafted to us, it is a custom that must be cultivated as an existential joy. This practice grows with the love we pour, both into ourselves and into others; since the human and social dimension is vital, being what gives us strength to be fair and to be able to look at the common good and not private interest. Today more than ever, in this era of globalization, we need to rediscover that community greatness, which does not only lie in dreaming it, it also needs to be lived, without excuses and in a responsible way.

Undoubtedly, no one can be perfectly autonomous until his analogues are. Rightly, we often say that “my freedom ends where yours begins.” It is precisely the bond of closeness and mutual support that harmonizes and beautifies us as thinking beings. With a good heart nothing resists and everything is reoriented toward the horizon of truth; Of course, a tiring path, but not impossible, that lasts a lifetime. The ultimate effects are there, in those absurd naval blockades, like the one in the Strait of Hormuz, causing a barrage of manifest insecurities that leave us speechless or those attacks on blue helmet vehicles, whose only aim is to provide more security and help citizens pushed into poverty.

Be that as it may, I recognize that freeing ourselves from so many chains, as beings on the path that we are, has never been comfortable; now it is not easy to reach true plenitude, always with unity and not with uniformity. Let us respect differences and come together in harmony, opening ourselves to universalism, with increasingly advanced technology, which must facilitate dialogue and not confrontation, preserving the ceasefire with the call for diplomacy and the cessation of hostilities. The lack of understanding, like the barrage of illegalities sown, apart from generating tremendous chaos, are leaving an indelible mark on us, both due to their pressure and the imprisonment of pulses; And thus, many people are no longer masters of their own steps.

Unfortunately, every day more people are arbitrarily detained for their peaceful work in favor of human rights; which should make us rethink that freedom is not living according to the flesh or according to instinct, individual desires and one’s own materialistic impulses, vices and emptiness; On the contrary, it lies in being on guard, at the permanent service of one another. In fact, there is no rescue without love, which requires us to be equanimous even with ourselves. An open and frank dialogue will help overcome misunderstandings and human follies. On the other hand, under this general climate of responsible emancipation, the various States must be at the same time promoters and vigorous guarantors.

It is true that we have expanded, but we have not activated healthy relationships, to the point that there are many oppressive ties that we must decide to abandon. We realize this when we lack hope and we wander existentially lost and desolate to the extreme, without a land for harmony and without inhabitants to which we can head together. It is a time for reflection, a time to abandon the falsehoods that surround us, a time to stop, make a stop along the way and, without a doubt, good intentions will emerge, outside of the idols that overwhelm us and outside of the attachments that imprison us. Let us begin, then, with the most honest punishment; which is what oneself proposes and imposes: reprimanding oneself.
