    Passport changes announced: Instead of burgundy, there will be burgundy red – Society


    Changes that will be applied to future passports were published in the latest Official Gazette.

    In the Rulebook on forms of passports, diplomatic passports and official passports: “burgundy colors” are replaced by the words: “burgundy red colors” and the words: “red, yellow and blue tones” are replaced by the words: “brown-red, blue-grey, ocher and gray-olive tones”.

    In Article 3, paragraph 1, the words: “scivertex-secura material” are replaced by the words: “skivertex security material with UV protection”.

    “The pages of the book block are made of protected paper with a multi-tone watermark, an electrotype and a security thread that is inserted into the paper and contains a stylized cross with four glasses in red, as well as mini and microtext REPUBLIC OF SERBIA written in three colors (black, blue and red), Cyrillic and Latin. The security thread contains UV and IR protection. It fluoresces blue and red under UV light. The motif of the watermark is White angel.”

    In Article 4, the words: “written in blue on the sides of the book block” are replaced by the words: “written in brown, and on the sides of the book block in ocher and blue-gray”.

    “4) a space for printing a reduced photo, the so-called ghost image.”

    In Article 7, the word: “face” is replaced by the word: “back”.

    Each side of the passport contains a special motif processed by special security software.

    Protective elements, made by offset printing, intaglio printing or letterpress printing, are: iris printing, guilloche elements, line thickness modulation, invisible details that fluoresce under UV light, latent images visible at different angles, minitext, microtext, IR elements, transparent register, laserable layer for data entry, digital signature and machine-readable data, multicolor security foil with various optical elements and display of Serbian tricolor, Small coat of arms of the Republic of Serbia, dry stamp over the photo, as well as the text REPUBLIC OF SERBIA in an iridescent display, kinegram, nanotext, relief elements, security element in laser perforation.”.

    The forms that were printed with the Rulebook on forms of passports, diplomatic passports and official passports (“Official Gazette of the RS”, no. 7/08, 37/08 and 9/16) are replaced by new forms that are printed with this rulebook and form an integral part of it.

    Passports, diplomatic passports and official passports issued on forms in accordance with the Rulebook on forms of passports, diplomatic passports and official passports (“Official Gazette of the RS”, no. 7/08, 37/08 and 9/16) are valid until the expiration of the period specified in them.

    This rulebook enters into force on the eighth day from the day of its publication in the “Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia”, according to the Official Gazette.
