Over the past few years, artificial intelligence-powered dictation tools have exploded in popularity. Along with existing dictation apps like Wispr Flow, Superwhisper, Willow and Monologue, new ones are launched every week.
On Thursday, hardware firm Nothing launched its own competing product called Essential Voice.
The basic idea is similar to other dictation apps, as Essential Voice works in any app to turn your speech into formatted text, removing filler words like “um” and “ah” in the process.
The company said you can also create custom voice shortcuts for words, links, templates and repeated phrases. For example, you can assign the shortcut “my address” to your full address.
Currently the option is available on Phone (3), with a rollout for Phone (4a) Pro planned for later this month, with support for Phone (4a) arriving next month, it states “TechCrunch“.
