“Those who have now entered the parliament are not the people we will need there” – he said four days after the election Viktor Orbán and the Fidesz faction promised a complete redesign and transformation. Fidesz-KDNP won 42 list mandates in the April 12 election in addition to 10 constituency mandates. On Monday, it was revealed which of the listed representatives will sit in the new parliament that will be formed on May 9.
Based on the announcement of Gergely Gulyás, from the 42 representatives on the shortlist 25 do not take up their mandate, and “thereby giving the opportunity for others to be parliamentarians in their place.”
Together with their current position and their place on the list, we show those from the Fidesz list who resigned from well-paying parliamentary jobs:
- Viktor Orbán (1st place), President of Fidesz, Prime Minister, Member of Parliament,

In July, the list will be expanded with Balázs Orbán, the campaign chief of Fidesz, who will be a member of the European Parliament, and Pál Szekeres, the current EP representative of Fidesz, will take his place in the Hungarian Parliament.
From the list above, it can be seen that no one from the current presidency of Fidesz is taking up their mandate, but Gabriella Selmeczi, who has been an MP since 1994, and Erik Bánki, who has been in the parliament since 1998, are leaving.
Representatives from the list can resign their mandate at any time, and in this case the party leadership decides who will take their place. There is only one restriction in the legislation: only a from the list of 279 people announced at the beginning of March you can send someone else to the parliament, the order no longer matters.
