Distinction
As part of the activities of the Meknes International Agricultural Show, the “Manahil Al Maghrib” cooperative was awarded an award in the person of Amine El Habib, its president, in the competition for local products in the “honey” category. This distinction recognizes the sustained efforts it deploys in this vital sector, which is of particular importance within the national agricultural system.
Organized under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, this competition recognizes the place of honey as a high-quality product, characterized by its diversity (notably euphorbia, thyme and jujube honey), as well as by its recognized nutritional and therapeutic virtues. This product is developed and marketed by professional cooperatives, such as “Manahil Al Maghrib”, whose headquarters is located in the commune of Foum Jemaa (province of Azilal), in the Béni Mellal-Khénifra region.
Mr. El Habib, considered one of the young ambitious figures in the sector, has been able to raise his cooperative to the rank of reference thanks to a strategy based on openness, innovation and participation in national and international trade fairs. He also worked to exchange experiences and expertise in this area, while establishing partnerships with several European countries.
Professionals in the sector believe that such distinctions constitute an important lever of motivation for other cooperatives, encouraging them to strengthen their capacities and engage in a dynamic of modernization, thus contributing to the improvement of productivity and the sustainability of this activity, inseparable from the agricultural identity of mountainous areas.
