Shortly before the theatrical release of the second part of «The devil wears Prada» lays Lead actress Anne Hathaway (43) made one wow appearance after another on various red carpets. You can’t see the 20 years that have passed between the first and second parts of the film. This is one of the reasons why she is often accused of needing a facelift. However, the actress never confirmed this.
What do you think of viral beauty hacks that promise quick results?
She recently publicly posted another trick that helps her achieve a wrinkle-free look – and it doesn’t even cost a cent. In the clip, Hathaway’s hairstylist Orlando Pita can be seen braiding small braids into her hair.
“Show them my secret,” says the actress as Pita holds her hair up to the camera. He explains that he braids a braid on each side and ties them together at the back of the head under the actual hairstyle, hiding it that way. The pull on the hair is intended to ensure that small wrinkles are smoothed and the brows and eyelids appear lifted. “It makes you look a little more awake,” says the 43-year-old. The clip with the trick was viewed almost 18 million times.
Tiktokers try it out
The technology is now going viral on social media. Make-up artist Fro demonstrates the effect on his own face. She braids two tight braids at about the level of her temples – the difference is visible. “This is how you fake a facelift,” she writes about the video.
Beauty influencer Maddi Heyn also tries it and is thrilled with the results. “If I had known how easy it was to fake a facelift, I would have started wearing my hair like that ages ago.”
Be careful, hair breakage
The majority of their followers worry about the headaches that the tight look would cause them. They agree with Maddi and are thrilled. “How could I not know this trick?” someone asks. Another comment reads: “This is how I wore my hair when I had to take a new photo for my ticket. My face was snatched!” Someone else has an important clue: “I love the trick. But I only wear the hairstyle for special occasions. If you do it too regularly, your hairline will thin out.”
Hairdresser Marc Menden, owner of the Zurich hairdressing salon, also confirms this concern Mad Hairstylingin one previous article of 20 minutes: “If the hair is worn extremely tightly – especially regularly – this can put strain on the hair roots in the long term and lead to hair breakage or thinning of the contour hair, especially in the front area.” And it gets even worse: “If you wear this look for a long time, you even risk a slowly receding hairline.” However, the hairdresser confirms that you don’t have to worry about any damage from a single evening look.
