National Flag Day: NM report

Referendum in Chisinau?
A referendum may be held in Chisinau if information about a possible change in the boundaries of the municipality and merger with some localities is confirmed. In this case, stated Mayor Ion Ceban, the mayor’s office initiates a referendum to give residents “their say.”
Secretary General of the Government Alexei Buzu responded to this that the unification of settlements is voluntary, and it is “not clear to him what exactly Cheban is afraid of. But if he can’t help, don’t let him interfere.”
Sandu and Zelensky in Chernobyl
President of Moldova Maia Sandu, who is on a visit to Ukraine, and President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky on the anniversary of the accident visited Chernobyl, where they paid tribute to the liquidators, among whom were 3.5 thousand citizens of Moldova.
Sandu said that “the same lack of respect for human life is evident today in Russia’s strikes on Ukrainian cities and the occupation of nuclear power plants.”
Searches in Moldelectrica
National Center for Combating Corruption (NCC) and the Prosecutor’s Office spent searches were carried out at the state-owned enterprise Moldelectrica and several people were detained (their names were not reported). The searches took place as part of a case of falsification of a tender for the purchase of hazardous waste collection and disposal services. In Moldelectrica statedthat they “work strictly within the law and remain open to cooperation with the competent authorities.”
Shore’s arrest warrant
Chisinau court in absentia issued arrest warrant for Ilan Shor for 30 days in the case of illegal financing of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) party. Moldovan authorities sent a request to Russia to notify Shor of the charges. According to investigators, Shor suggested that ALDE leader Arina Spataru create a pro-European party to “maintain control over the political processes in Moldova,” which he would finance.
Spataru, commenting on the arrest warrant, statedwhich counts on “justice”, despite the fact that “a lot of lies have appeared around the case on both sides.” Spataru also recalled that she participated in the investigation as an undercover agent and did not receive money from Shor.
Zoo Incident: Continued
The administration of the Chisinau Zoo, commenting on the incident with a six-year-old child who was injured by a tree falling in the zoo, reportedthat they launched an internal investigation and took “measures to reduce the risk of accidents.” But at the same time they noted that people should “assess the weather conditions” themselves and not “shift responsibility.”
Injured child remains in hospital and is in serious condition.

In Moldova today again grew up prices for gasoline and diesel fuel. Gasoline A95 went up by 17 bani – to 29.32 lei, diesel fuel by 82 bani – to 30.26 lei.
In Ukraine revealed a network that, according to investigators, was coordinated by Russian intelligence services and which was preparing murders and terrorist attacks in the EU. Among the participants, according to the police, were citizens of Moldova.
