Kufra International Airport is preparing to resume air traffic as the technical committee of the Libyan African Aviation Holding Company conducts a field assessment of the airport’s readiness to restart direct flights between Kufra and Benghazi in the coming weeks.
According to Libyan Airlines’ station manager at Kufra Airport, Al-Lafi Al-Farjani, the city holds strategic importance for the airline as one of its historic operating stations. He explained that current efforts are focused on easing travel challenges and improving air services in the region.
For his part, the holding company’s representative, Fathi Saad Bouain, confirmed that operations are expected to begin soon with the Benghazi–Kufra route, with gradual expansion planned to include additional destinations, commending the support of local authorities in facilitating the committee’s work.
