Nassau Cruise Port (NCP) reported strong first quarter results yesterday, with passenger volumes growing by 15 percent from 1.6 million to 1.8 million, while ship calls increased 5.5 percent.
“Nassau Cruise Port entered 2026 with significant momentum, delivering a stronger first quarter across nearly every key performance metric,” NCP said in a statement.
NCP Chief Executive Officer Mike Maura Jr. said the port’s performance is a result of its partnerships and its appeal as a premier cruise destination.
NCP said its presence at the recently held Seatrade Cruise Global conference in Miami, the world’s largest event for cruise line executives and suppliers of cruise services, “provided a key platform for the Nassau Cruise Port team to engage with cruise line partners, industry leaders, and global stakeholders while highlighting its impressive performance and forward-looking developments”.
“At Seatrade, we had the opportunity to build on that momentum, share our progress, and highlight what’s next for Nassau Cruise Port,” said Maura.
NCP also revealed that it is preparing to open its Bahama Bay pool and day club within weeks, noting that it is central to the cruise port’s next phase of offerings.
“This momentum reflects strong growth in shore excursions, supported by an expanded mix of local experiences and enhanced retail and food and beverage offerings that encourage deeper engagement and visitor spend across the local community,” the statement said.
NCP added that it recently completed the expansion of its marina, which can now accommodate up to six mega-yachts simultaneously. The port said the expanded marina strengthens Nassau’s position as a cruise hub and destination for luxury and boutique maritime traffic.
“Following its transformative redevelopment, Nassau Cruise Port continues to elevate the cruise passenger experience through modern infrastructure, authentic Bahamian retail and entertainment, and a strong focus on sustainability and community engagement,” the statement said.
“As the cruise industry continues to evolve, Nassau Cruise Port remains committed to innovation, partnership, and delivering long-term value for The Bahamas.”
