They demand termination of work on Del Sol Street

The Association of Businesses of the Center of Santiago (ASECENSA) expressed its concern about the constant delays in the renovation work on Del Sol Street, the city’s main commercial artery, and denounced repeated non-compliance by the construction company in charge of the project.

During a meeting with the press, directors of the entity assured that delivery promises have been broken on multiple occasions, seriously affecting the commercial sector of the historic center.

The vice-treasurer of Asecensa, Francisco Alba, explained that the first section of the project, included between the streets Long Savannah and until the Cuba street It had to be delivered within a period of three months, with an estimated date of December 7, 2025, which was not met.

Meanwhile, the president of the entity, José Octavio Reinoso, indicated that, although the business sector supports the development of the city, the lack of compliance with the schedules is bringing merchants to the brink of bankruptcy.

As he explained, the companies located in the intervened area have recorded drops in sales of between 70% and 90%, after more than seven months of work.

Reinoso pointed out that, although authorities recently promised to complete the stretch in about 20 days, the entity is waiting for concrete results before defining new actions.
