The Progressive Citizens’ Party has nominated Christine Wohlwend as a candidate for the office of mayor of Balzers. The party announced this in a media release.
Christine Wohlwend grew up in Balzers and still lives in the community today. The 47-year-old is no stranger to Liechtenstein politics: from 2013 to 2017 she sat for the FBP in the state parliament and served as parliamentary group spokeswoman. After her time in the state parliament, she remained in the public eye as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Liechtensteiner Volksblatt AG.
Professionally, Wohlwend is co-founder and managing partner of elleta AG in Balzers, a consulting firm with a focus on risk management, data protection, information security and compliance. Previously, she worked in forensic science at the Federal Criminal Police Office in Wiesbaden, among other places.
