For many viewers, this goes too far: “The show promotes pedophile fetishes,” writes one user. Many people also wonder why the Hollywood actress would agree to such scenes. With her fame, she doesn’t really need that anymore.

Not only individual scenes are criticized, but the entire script. The story is boring and unoriginal. “Viewers are tired of watching the same pattern with the same director over and over again,” writes one user on Instagram. You wait in vain for a plot twist or generally for something exciting to happen. Others criticize that the acting is “cringe” and “extremely bad.” “Euphoria is in the flop era,” sums up someone else.
The critics on the rating platform Rotten Tomatoes have a similar opinion. While the first two seasons received a top rating of 80 percent, the third season only received 41 percent positive reviews.
But there are also some online who defend the US series. “The concept of the series is to provoke,” said one fan. Others also cannot understand the criticism and are calling for more openness from the audience.
