“Health” (AKIpress) – Psoriasis manifests itself as scaly rashes, most often on the elbows, knees, torso and scalp. This was reported by a dermatovenerologist at the Republican Center for Dermatovenereology Nurzhan Zhumabekova.
In some patients, the rash is accompanied by mild itching, while in others it may be more pronounced. Psoriasis is sometimes confused with allergies, eczema and other skin conditions, so if spots appear, you should consult a dermatologist.
The doctor does not recommend self-medication, using folk remedies or steaming the affected areas of the skin. This may worsen the condition or cause an allergic reaction.
It is not yet possible to completely cure psoriasis, but the disease can be controlled. Depending on the severity of the condition, external medications, phototherapy and systemic treatment, including biological drugs, are used.
If flaky spots appear, you should consult a dermatologist and do not use dubious products from the Internet.
