Donald Trump’s agreement with Russia on the supply of diesel is being implemented.
A tanker under the Maltese flag is on its way to the USA with 40,000 tons of Russian diesel.
This is according to data from the Reuters news agency.
The ship is headed for the city of New York.
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, entered into an agreement with the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, earlier this month on the supply of diesel to the global markets.
Trump has said that 300,000 tons of diesel will be delivered immediately, and that another 500,000 tons will be delivered in November, and then another million tons.
According to the president, the agreement will reduce fuel prices. Several analysts have expressed doubts.
The price of diesel has risen more than 60 percent since Trump launched the war against Iran seven months ago. The rising prices are putting pressure on Trump before the November 3 midterm elections.
