The president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, announced three new modalities for the sale of domestic gas for Venezuelans. He specified that they are: house-to-house delivery, recharging at service stations and traveling units.
The announcement was made on Thursday, October 22, during an inspection of the Ambrosio Plaza Cylinder Plant, in Guarenas, Miranda state.
“Very excited because this is the economic and service model that we want for Venezuela. It is a plant that is recovering its productive capacity, we are going from 20% to 100%. It will allow us to produce 397,000 cylinders per year, which will allow us to recover the country’s cylinder fleet”said the president.
“The first service is the house-to-house service, where the trucks will go with the cylinders loaded with gas. You previously sign up for the service to ask for the cylinder to be brought to your house and the service goes house-to-house.”explained Rodríguez, who noted that the delivery will be scheduled and will require a prior request from the buyer.
“The second mechanism of service provision that the plant and Pdvsa Gas Comunal will have is through cylinder refilling stations at service stations. You arrive with your cylinder and an operator will refill your cylinder directly without any type of intermediary”he continued.
The third, as explained by Rodríguez, consists of mobile units that will tour the communities on a rotating basis, with emphasis on remote areas or areas with less coverage.
“The third is an itinerant unit that can move from one place to another (…) We seek through the different modalities of public service to facilitate access to gas for the citizen”he concluded.
The plan is part of the restructuring of the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supply system that the national government promises. The measure seeks to diversify purchasing channels, offer more reasonable costs to families and eliminate obstacles that complicate supply.
