I am a shareholder of Mútua Elèctrica de Sant Julià de Lòria and I don’t quite understand a piece of news I read. It turns out that the Government has prepared a bill on the operation of the parish electric mutuals to distribute the income by transferring all the collection to a kind of common pot, which will then be distributed to the different companies based on a series of criteria such as, for example, the investment needs they have to address or the costs they have to bear. The truth is that I don’t really understand this bill… No matter how much the Government sets the prices that these mutual electric companies have to bill for consumption, I don’t see clearly that they have to distribute their income in one way or another. In reality, these are two different companies, with private shareholders who should be independent of the Government. As for the Sant Julià de Lòria Mutual, it was a mutual that became a society. For Northern Andorra, I think it has always been a society. I don’t know which company will win or lose with this law, but it doesn’t seem right to me, as a shareholder of Mútua Elèctrica de Sant Julià de Lòria, that the Government can reduce my dividends to be collected by its own decision. As much as the Government has the power to set the selling prices of electricity, I don’t understand much that it has the power to distribute the profits. Each company invoices what it sells according to what it buys… I repeat, I have no idea who will win or lose, but I think that the Government does not have the power to distribute dividends from companies that are not its own…
