The weather has been pleasant for many people across the country today, even though it may not have been as noticeable in the southwest.
In Akureyri, the temperature had already risen above 10°C by 9 am and has continued to climb steadily since, reaching 19.6°C in the mid-afternoon.
The warmth has been felt elsewhere as well, for example in Kirkjubæjarklaustur, where nearly 19°C was recorded in the afternoon.
Only slightly lower temperatures have been measured in Egilsstaðir.
