DAILY REPORT
Three missing persons were found on Wednesday during a SAR operation. The police are also looking for witnesses in a case where a man molested a young girl in Nuuk on Wednesday evening.
The night of Wednesday a major SAR operation was launched in North Greenland after three people had been reported missing. It was about three men who were on their way from Saqqaq to Qaarsut in a dinghy, but who had not arrived.
Head of duty Hans-Peter Berthelsen says on Thursday that it was possible to find the three missing persons safe and sound.
It was the Defense Force’s Challenger aircraft that spotted the three missing on Wednesday morning during the search. The three men’s dinghy had developed engine problems, but luckily they were able to get ashore.
On land, the three had made a fire, and this helped the plane find them.
According to the police, all three have been picked up and sailed to Qaarsut, where they arrived on Wednesday afternoon.
Witnesses are wanted
Warden Hans-Peter Berthelsen further says that the police are looking for witnesses to an incident that happened on Wednesday evening in Nuuk.
