The futsal men’s national team will face three other teams at Futsal Week in Croatia in October.
The Greenland national futsal team for men will participate in Futsal Week from 13 to 18 October in Poreč, Croatia. China, San Marino, Switzerland, Morocco U21 and France U23 will participate here. Before the tournament, the team travels to Zagreb to train and play with Dinamo Zagreb.
This is what KAK writes in a press release.
– It will be exciting to meet countries that are established and see our development internationally.
– We do not yet have quite the same opportunities to play matches as the European countries have. But it is a tournament against teams that we should be able to compete with. Morocco’s U21 will be a difficult first opponent, as their men’s team is top-5 in the world, but we have met some of the teams before and had good experiences against them, says national coach René Olsen.
As a prelude to Futsal Week, the squad will be in Zagreb from 9 to 13 October, where they will both train and play with Dinamo Zagreb. The preparation stay gives the players the opportunity to play together and meet futsal at a high level before the tournament begins.
– Through our good network and relations with the major futsal nations, we have had the opportunity to meet a club team that regularly plays in the Champions League and can muster several national team players. It also shows that we are making good progress and have a good reputation abroad, concludes René Olsen.
The team must play a total of three matches in addition to the preliminary matches.
