The “Genocide in Kosovo” Center addresses the institutions: The dissolution of the Special and the declaration of a state of emergency is requested

The “Genocide in Kosovo – Open Wound” center has forwarded a letter to the heads of institutions and political entities in Kosovo, requesting the declaration of a state of emergency and the dissolution of the Specialized Chambers of Kosovo, together with the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office.
The letter was addressed to the Speaker of the Assembly and the Acting President of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, Prime Minister Albin Kurti, the deputies of the Assembly as well as the leaders of the political parties. In it, the Center expresses concern that Kosovo’s independence is facing danger.
According to this organization, the decision of the Specialized Chambers of Kosovo, taken on September 16, constitutes “a serious blow to the basic provisions of the Constitution of Kosovo”.
The center claims that the way the decision represents the realization of Kosovo’s independence contradicts the historical truth of the liberation war.
The document also mentions the statement approved on September 28 by 99 deputies of the Assembly of Kosovo. The center says that through it the state institutions were called to take steps to “protect the truth and purity of the liberation war of the people of Kosovo”, as well as to draw up a common state strategy.
The Center also dwells on the developments of September 29, when it was announced about the appointment of the Appeals Panel that will examine the complaints in the case against Hashim Thaçi, Jakup Krasniqi, Kadri Veseli and Rexhep Selimi.
The composition of this Panel is questioned in the letter, as the Center points out that several judges have previously served on panels that examined cases against Hysni Gucat and Nasim Haradinaj, Salih Mustafa and Pjetër Shala.
“Therefore the result of the decision of the Appeal Panel is DÉJÀ VU!”the document states.
Faced with this situation, the Center demands that the declaration of the state of emergency and the abrogation of Article 162 of the Constitution of Kosovo be considered as a “categorical imperative”.
“Only the abolition of the Specialized Chambers and the General Prosecutor’s Office can save Kosovo from the great danger that threatens it”the letter follows.
The political forces are asked to maintain the consensus reached through the statement of September 28 and to react unitedly to the developments that the Center sees as threatening to Kosovo.
According to her, such a political union could help alleviate internal tensions and strengthen social unity in the face of external pressures.
