The campaign with a view to the 2026 Regional and Municipal Elections enters its final stretch. The 26 political organizations competing forThe Mayor’s Office of Lima will debate this September 21 and 22, in a meeting organized by the National Elections Jury (JNE) and that will be broadcast on the El Comercio networks.

13 candidates will participate in each day, who will present and confront ideas about the vision of the city, public cleanliness, street commerce and other topics. In addition, they will answer citizen questions and have a space to provide their final message.

It should be noted that Renovación Popular and Perú Libre do not have a candidate for mayor, but their groups will send their candidates for deputy mayor. It is up to them to participate on Tuesday the 22nd.

The meeting will be held in the Mario Vargas Llosa auditorium of the National Library of Peru, located in San Borja, from 8:00 pm The moderators will be journalists Omar Mariluz and Alicia Retto.

• Block 1: Presentation and vision of Lima

-Time assigned: 1 minute and a half for each candidate.

• Block 2: Debate between 5 pairs and 1 shortlist

-Time allocated: 3 minutes per pair or trio for questions, responses and mutual responses.

• Block 3: Citizen and blunt question

The candidates answer two neighborhood questions selected from the 4,921 received in the “Ask your candidate” campaign.

• Citizen question: Respond in pairs and shortlists.
• Bluntly: They answer Yes or No and why.
