Cuba, laboratory of an alliance against the West

Cuba, laboratory of an alliance against the West

Miami/Simply saying that communist systems “fail” doesn’t even begin to capture half the problem, much less half the horror, that communism really represents. Every time communist collectivism seizes power in a country, it invariably leaves devastating death tolls in its wake. The anti-political violence inherent in communist systems has ruthlessly crushed dissent and any opposition to this so-called “social project.” Because communists demand absolute obedience, the collectivist economy is transformed into a tool of behavioral and ideological control.

When an individual refuses to submit, they face an existential threat within any territory controlled by a communist dictatorship. Given this, the only options left are to fight for human rights and freedom, or escape. The danger we face today is that communism has been waging a global campaign for decades to redefine its image, reappearing on the modern scene under seemingly new guises, while remaining, in essence, the same criminal enterprise against the individual and his freedom.

Cubans know very well what “the heat of collectivism” really means. This quote comes from a public intervention by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who, in documented appearances after October 7, attempted to frame Islamic terrorism as a social justice or “resistance” movement. This is aberrant and bears a striking resemblance to the Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.

In other words, the emerging leaders of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) do not resemble the communists of Eastern Europe during the Cold War; They look like Fidel Castro. It was precisely this characteristic that prevented the Cuban dictatorship from falling along with the Berlin Wall.

When an individual refuses to submit, they face an existential threat within any territory controlled by a communist dictatorship.

The current Cuban regime is betting on this same vein; in fact, some DSA sympathizers have traveled to Cuba and written a disturbing tribute to Castro. This is no coincidence. It’s a deep-rooted ideology that’s been brewing on social media and in universities for decades, one that hit us all in the wake of October 7.

It is crucial to understand that the ultimate goal of communism is mass domination, absolute power, and the destruction of freedom and democracy. Cubans want to put an end to the Castro dictatorship and its visible figure, Díaz-Canel; However, their political rights have completely vanished under communism. Therefore, although Cubans long for a change in the system with the same depth with which anyone desires happiness, a political and peaceful path remains out of reach.

However, one must realize that Cuba’s dictators do not care if the population lives in Stone Age conditions. Since the days of Fidel Castro, the regime’s ideology of power has been a fusion of Marxism and Palestinian nationalism. That is why Castro did not fall like the communist dictatorships of Eastern Europe, and that is why the island remained plunged into darkness for five years while he demanded from his infamous platform that the people “resist.” But what “resistance” were you talking about? To resist the same living conditions to which that dictator condemned them without remorse.

Behind this operates the same ideology that we saw emerge with horror on university campuses after October 7. In that sense, Cuba has served as a laboratory for the global left, which does not care how many Cubans suffer political imprisonment for dissenting and demanding their rights, nor how many lose their reason and their lives in the darkness of communism to which the Castro family and the international left have condemned them.

Communism is an enemy of Western civilization, as is jihadist Palestinian nationalism

Therefore, communism is an enemy of Western civilization, as is jihadist Palestinian nationalism. Behind every demand framed in the language of “social justice” lies the true intention to destroy freedom. Naturally, the pursuit of affordability is almost unobjectionable in itself, but it all depends on how it is achieved; Furthermore, the political radicals of real socialism—or communism in its new version—use it as bait to capture votes and reprogram mentalities.

Castro was ahead of his time in this regard, not because he was brilliant, but because he was embedded within the very propaganda machine he helped build. For this reason, expecting the Cuban regime to fall solely through popular protests and the brutal deterioration of living conditions seems unrealistic; They will simply continue to exploit that misery as a weapon to feed their propaganda.

The Cuban dictatorship cannot be understood apart from the radicalism of Palestinian nationalism that Castro embodied and helped forge beginning in 1959. Castro, although geographically distant from the Middle East, designed the open-air prison that is Cuba today, leaving it seemingly devoid of a political outlet.

Today’s Cuba is the definitive manifestation in the real world of what the red-green alliance between the radical left and the Islamist movements produces. All of this is very far from the Cubans deprived of liberty, who would free themselves from the dictatorship if only they could. As long as power remains in the hands of the communists, Cuba will remain trapped in the infernal abyss where Castro-communism buried it.
