Police after the protest: We do not intend to prevent participation in the protest, but to stop dangerous driving

The Kosovo Police reacted to the protest held in Pristina against the punishment of the former leaders of the KLA, saying that the KP was forced to take additional measures at the entrance to the capital’s roads and stop dangerous driving, which endangers the lives of traffic participants.
In the announcement, it is added that the police never intended to stop or prevent participation in the protest, nor to obstruct the traffic of vehicles that are driven according to traffic rules, but it is intended to stop dangerous driving, and all those who violate the law and road traffic rules.
“In order to ensure the safe progress of the protest which was held today at 21:00 in Pristina, and in order to ensure the smooth flow of traffic, as well as to prevent possible accidents from such careless and dangerous driving, which happened last night until late after midnight, today the Police has been forced to take additional measures at the entrance to the streets of the capital and to stop such dangerous driving, which endangers the lives of participants in traffic”, says the Police.

The Police of Kosovo, as it has made known through the official announcement published today, which refers to the protest held on 18.09.2026 at 21:00 in Pristina, that after the end of the protest some people had parades with vehicles, dangerous driving, getting out of the cars, actions which have shown endangerment of traffic participants.
In order to ensure the safe progress of the protest which was held today at 21:00 in Pristina, and in order to ensure the smooth flow of traffic, as well as to prevent possible accidents from such careless and dangerous driving, which happened last night until late after midnight, today the Police has been forced to take additional measures at the entrance to the streets of the capital and to stop such dangerous driving, which endangers the lives of traffic participants.
The Kosovo Police has never intended to stop or prevent participation in the protest, nor to obstruct the traffic of vehicles that are driven according to traffic rules, but aims to stop dangerous driving, and all those who violate the law and road traffic rules.
The Kosovo Police reiterates that it recognizes the citizens’ right to a peaceful and democratic protest, and also reiterates its thanks to the citizens for mutual cooperation.
