SAN MARINO – The traditional Feast of San Rocco returns on Sunday 20 September in the historic Chiesina del Crocefisso, in the city of San Marino. An end-of-summer event that combines spirituality, culture, history and memory.
The celebrations will begin on Saturday 19 September at 8.30 pm with a function in memory of the missing people of the community, followed by the procession and torchlight procession in honor of the Sacred Relic of San Rocco. Solemn Mass will be celebrated on Sunday at 9am, presided over by Domenico BeneventiBishop of the Diocese of San Marino-Montefeltro, and concelebrated by the parish priest Marco Mazzanti.
From 3pm the party will move to Piazzale Crocefisso with music, refreshments and a convivial moment open to the community. During the afternoon it will also be possible to visit the interior of the church, where works related to popular devotion are kept.
Finally, at 5pm there will be space for the traditional tombolino of San Rocco, with a basket of gastronomic products for the five tombolas and prizes of 250 and 150 euros for the two tombolas. The initiative aims to renew the bond between the community and the Church of the Crucifix, keeping alive the dialogue between faith and culture that the organizers indicate as a trait of San Marino identity.
