“Summary” (AKIpress) – The military prosecutor’s office detained the ex-Minister of Emergency Situations Boobek Azhikeyeva. The press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office reported this.
The reason for the detention was a number of violations during the construction of a building for service and household purposes on the territory of the Baytik weather station by officials of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
It was established that the construction of this facility was carried out in the absence of design estimates and permitting documentation, at a distance of 5 meters from the Ala-Archa River – on the territory of a water protection zone, where construction is strictly prohibited.
“As a result of illegal actions of responsible officials of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the state suffered damage on an especially large scale,” the statement says.
The ex-head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was placed in the temporary detention center of the Bishkek City Internal Affairs Directorate.
The investigation is ongoing.
Boobek Azhikeyev served as Minister of Emergency Situations from October 13, 2021 to February 16, 2026.
