The spokesmen of Together for Peru, Good Government, Now Nation and Works They made the appeal official before the Presidency of the Upper House led by Miguel Torres (Fuerza Popular).
The initiative invokes the cause of serious misconduct for acting negligently in the performance of the duties of the office. The document described the official’s recent expressions as ““an attack against the Constitution and the balance of powers”.
The complaint also raises questions about alleged Irregular hiring and incorporation of personnel without experience in the institution. The parliamentarians pointed out that questioning the functioning of Parliament “without respecting the legal framework it is an undemocratic action”.

This last aspect refers to a report from the Comptroller’s Office that questioned the hiring of four women in various positions without meeting the necessary requirements. Specifically mentioned were the cases of Betbiary Mariel Díaz Coral, Lucía Yalán Cano, Nicole Marjhory Mingos Medrano and Margarita Yahuana Correa.
“The four cases share a pattern: prior contact with the office of the head of the entity, succession of service orders and subsequent incorporation into the payroll, with validation of requirements that were not accredited. The reiteration rules out the isolated or fortuitous nature of each episode and compromises the duty of direction and surveillance that corresponds to the owner of the document.”warns the opposition request.
The evaluation procedure corresponds exclusively to the Senate through the Special Procedures Commission. The working group will have a period of 30 business days to request defenses before the Plenary vote.
The removal of the holder of the Ombudsman’s Office requires the favorable vote of two-thirds of the legal number of senators. The agreement requires the approval of 40 votes out of 60 in the Senate to declare the immediate vacancy of the position.

The senior official also maintained that the dissolution of Parliament would represent an annual economic saving of S/3,000 million for the State. With these arguments, he considered that the opposition should not act in an obstructionist manner with the request for legislative powers of the Executive.
