The Trinidad and Tobago Prison Service says 395 people detained under public detention orders (PDOs) during the state of emergency have been released following the execution of revocation orders.
The state of emergency ended yesterday.
In a statement issued by the Office of the Commissioner of Prisons, the service said 569 revocation orders had been executed as at September 17.
Of those, 395 people had been released, while 174 remained in custody on other matters.
The Prison Service said it remains committed to processing all legal directives efficiently, adhering to constitutional protocols and ensuring safety and public security throughout the facility management process.
