Gruda: In the “we were betrayed” session, VV did not vote for the PDK candidate

The deputy of the PDK, Përparim Gruda, has accused the Vetëvendosje Movement of having “betrayed” the Democratic Party of Kosovo during the process of electing the deputy speakers of the Assembly.
Gruda said that the PDK had gone to the consultation session, taking into account the deadline of September 16, but according to him, during the process, the political agreement for voting for the PDK candidate was not respected.
“We have said that we are going to consult him for the sake of September 16, but it was misused, as you saw. It turned into an absurdity. Once an excuse is invented, we go with September 9, with September 11 another excuse was invented, and with September 11 we were betrayed in the session, because in Albanian it is said ‘we were betrayed'”, said Gruda.
He stated that the PDK voted for the VV candidate, but according to him, the VV did not support the PDK candidate, despite public statements that such a thing would happen.
“We voted for their candidate, even though you had a public statement in front of the media: ‘We will also vote for our candidate.’ There was no vote. Now, when the deadline is violated, the given political word is violated, the word given that we will vote for our candidate in front of the media, in front of the people of Kosovo, in the assembly, we cannot go to an assembly where there are such actions, and we knew that this would be completely another game, and we could not continue to allow ourselves to be insulted in that way,” he said.
Gruda has said that such an action, according to him, constitutes an insult to the PDK, but also to the citizens, stressing that his party had voted for the vice-president proposed by the other party.
“I think it is an insult to both us and the public, when there are public statements about voting. We voted for the 6th vice president, it is important for us as people of this country. How can the party that won, lie to me publicly and establish it, not take my word for it publicly? And this is important for the court, not for politics. For us as people who live in this country, it is very important,” said Gruda.
