One of the first measures announced by Dr. Isaías Fretes was to retransmit all the sessions of the Board of Directors of the Social Security Institute. He also confirmed that only one counselor made his position available after his request. He noted that he is aware that he will not have time to change the IPS, but he does seek to “put the bow on its correct course.”
As holder of IPS CouncilDr. Fretes pointed out that he gave the order for the transmission to be public. “I don’t know why that was cut,” he said this morning and questioned that some people had indicated to him that this provision had to first go through the approval of the members.
“No, ma’am,” I told her. Let’s film it, let’s broadcast it. “Whoever opposes it is because he has a dirty tail,” said the appointee appointed just this week.

Request for positions available
Precisely, one of Dr. Fretes’ first statements was related to the counselors. He asked everyone to make their positions available, to clean up the institution and restore trust.
In that sense, he confirmed that only one member followed his request. “They are people who have a history. I believe they will be examining their conscience and the message is that this is not due to a whim or something that one wants to pretend. Would you like to work in a place where your boss asks you to step aside?“, he stated.
He indicated that he is also doing a management review and yesterday he met with each of the managers to ask for their resume and study each case. He clarified that there are very good professionals with whom he will continue working, but he did not rule out starting to make many changes.
“I’m not going to change the IPS. No, I’m not going to have time. But my goal is put the bow in the right directionso that whoever comes to replace me has the need to continue the same course, follow the process,” the professional reflected.
