AHF Laos prioritises media to boost HIV project awareness
AHF Laos has been actively implementing projects in Laos since 2018, focusing on HIV prevention, testing, and referral for care and treatment.
To promote information regarding project activities, particularly concerning HIV prevention and testing, the organisation is prioritising online platforms. This approach is viewed as a more effective and accessible way to reach a broader demographic across various generations and genders.
Throughout 2025 and 2026, the programme has actively posted information on its official Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1Lck1uAPhu/) and conducted live streaming sessions in collaboration with partner civil society organisations (CSOs), Lao National Radio (LNR), and the Centre of Information and Education for Health under the Ministry of Health.

The main objectives of these media initiatives are to share vital HIV information, introduce prevention and testing protocols, and detail care and treatment services. These sessions often feature interviews with the country programme manager, medical doctors, and CSO officers to provide expert insights.

This momentum continued into 2025, with live streaming sessions on Lao National Radio held in May and August. These broadcasts introduced AHF Laos programmes and facilitated discussions on HIV prevention and clinical care.

Additionally, in May 2025, the organisation utilised the Vientiane Times newspaper and its website to post service information regarding the Wellness Clinic.

Looking ahead to May 2026, in recognition of International Menstrual Health Day, AHF Laos plans to cooperate with the Centre of Information and Education for Health to arrange a special live streaming event. This session will include representatives from development partners working on school health programmes.
The discussion will focus on the importance of menstrual hygiene support for female students, integrated with the dissemination of HIV and STI knowledge.
