Sławomir Cenckiewicz was a guest on TV Republika. The former head of the National Security Bureau, who today joined the team of the Law and Justice (PiS) candidate for prime minister, Przemysław Czarnek, did not hold back in his criticism of the current authorities. “This team has an obsession with the United States – something they cannot overcome, they cannot move away from their aversion to the person of the U.S. president”, he revealed. As he admitted, he had previously been unable to say this publicly.
“Mr. Sławomir Cenckiewicz has submitted his resignation as head of the National Security Bureau to the President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki. The resignation has been accepted as of April 23. Acting Head of the BBN has been appointed Gen. Andrzej Kowalski, previously deputy head of the Bureau”, presidential spokesperson Rafał Leśkiewicz announced. TV Republika reported that Sławomir Cenckiewicz will join the team of Przemysław Czarnek, the Law and Justice (PiS) candidate for prime minister.
Cenckiewicz was asked about his new challenges on TV Republika.
“I have plenty to do in life – I have written nearly 40 books, I could withdraw and do nothing, but I care about the right wing winning and about this highly harmful government of anti-state vandals ceasing to rule Poland”, he said.
Cenckiewicz: They are obsessed with the United States
Speaking about the “anti-state nature” of Donald Tusk’s government, Cenckiewicz referred to a specific attitude among those in power. “I can say this clearly – I couldn’t say it before as I want to now: the defining feature of this team is anti-Atlanticism and anti-Americanism. Both in private, candid and interesting conversations with some representatives of the government, and second-hand, I have repeatedly been convinced that this team has an obsession with the United States, something they cannot overcome, they cannot move away from their aversion to the person of the U.S. president”, he stressed.
“This is beginning to take the form of blunt anti-Americanism as such – not Trump-related, but in general. One of the backstage aspects related to SAFE concerned this”, the former head of the BBN added.
He also revealed a part of the “political kitchen”:
“I can tell you that the veto regarding SAFE is, immodestly speaking, my doing”, he disclosed.
