After capturing a dozen medals yesterday at the Commonwealth Games, Canada found another gear by piling up 14, including six gold, today in Scotland.

Gymnast Felix Dolci led the charge with two more golds and a bronze, while hammer thrower Camryn Rogers, swimmer Kylie Masse and weightlifters Maude Charron and Charlotte Simoneau also topped the podium.

Dolci finished his Games with four gold and six total medals after winning the men’s vault and horizontal bar events today and adding a bronze in the parallel bars. He previously won gold in the rings and team events and took silver in the all-around. Sixteen-year-old Lia-Monica Fontaine won bronze in the women’s balance beam for her fourth medal and William Émard added a bronze in the men’s horizontal bar as Canada’s gymnasts finished with a Games-high 16 medals, including seven gold.

Rogers, the reigning Olympic and world champion in the women’s hammer throw, broke her own Games record with a toss of 74.91 metres to easily win her second straight Commonwealth gold. Para long jumper Noah Vucsics claimed the silver in the men’s T20 category for Canada’s only other track and field medal today.

Led by Masse’s gold in the women’s 50m backstroke — the 11th career Commonwealth medal for the five-time Olympic medallist and three-time world champion — Canada’s swimmers reached the podium five times today. Eighteen-year-old Oliver Dawson took silver in the men’s 200m breaststroke in 2:08.39, breaking a Canadian record that had stood since the year he was born, while Lorne Wigginton (men’s 400m individual medley), Sophie Angus (women’s 50m breaststroke) and Para athlete Nicolas-Guy Turbide (men’s 50m freestyle S13) each picked up a bronze.

Kylie Masse in 11th heaven after her latest Commonwealth Games gold medal victory

Kylie Masse of LaSalle, Ont., spoke with CBC Sports’ Devin Heroux after winning the women’s 50-metre backstroke final in Glasgow, for her 11th-career Commonwealth Games medal.

On the down side, gold-medal contender Josh Liendo finished fourth in the men’s 100m freestyle and was also fourth in the mixed 4x100m medley relay with Masse, Dawson and Ella Jansen after Scotland passed them on the final leg.

Charron, an Olympic champion in 2021 and silver medallist in 2024, lifted a Commonwealth Games-record 232 total kilograms to win her third consecutive title in the women’s 63kg division. Simoneau followed suit in the women’s 69kg class, putting up a Games-record 240 total kilos to win her first Commonwealth title.

With its huge medal haul over the last two days, Canada has leapfrogged England for second place in the medal standings, which prioritize golds. Australia leads with 35, followed by Canada with 13 and England with 10. Canada ranks third in total medals with 35, trailing the Aussies (80) and the English (43).

    Other key Canadian results today

    * Boxers Scarlett Delgado (women’s 54kg) and Marie Al-Ahmadieh (women’s 60kg) clinched a medal by winning their quarterfinal bouts in their respective weight classes. They’ll fight in the semifinals on Friday, with the winners advancing to the gold-medal match and the losers automatically awarded a bronze. Gabriel Aly-Labrie was eliminated in the men’s 65kg quarterfinals, losing a 3-2 decision to an Australian opponent.

    Canadians to watch on Wednesday

Here’s who to follow on Day 6:

    Swimming

The final day of competition in the pool features Liendo taking another crack at his second medal of the Games after his disappointing fourth-place finish in the 100m freestyle today. The back-to-back Commonwealth 100m butterfly champion will race in the men’s 50m butterfly final at 2:49 p.m. ET.

Other Canadian medal hopefuls include Angus in the women’s 200m breaststroke (the final is at 2:13 p.m. ET) and Sebastian Massabie in the men’s 50m freestyle S7 category (final at 3:16 p.m. ET). Massabie won Paralympic gold in the 50m freestyle S4 in 2024.

Canada will also be looking to qualify for the women’s and men’s 4x100m medley relay finals at 4:20 p.m. ET and 4:31 p.m. ET, respectively. Masse and Liendo could potentially swim in those races.

Qualifying heats begin at 5:30 a.m. ET, and the finals start at 2 p.m. ET. Here’s the full swimming schedule with startlists and results.

    Track and field

Canada’s top contender is Sarah Mitton in the women’s shot put final at 3:01 p.m. ET. The defending Commonwealth Games champion took silver at the 2023 world championships before capturing back-to-back indoor world titles in 2024 and ’25, followed by an indoor silver this year.

Olympic men’s 4x100m champion Brendon Rodney will line up for the opening round of the men’s 200m at 6:32 a.m. ET while his relay teammate Aaron Brown enjoys a bye to Thursday’s semifinals.

Here’s the full track and field schedule with startlists and results.

    Other Canadians to watch

    * Canada’s world-champion men’s and women’s 3×3 wheelchair basketball teams will both face England in the semifinals after rebounding from a 1-2 record in the group stage to score decisive playoff victories today. The men trounced South Africa 15-5 while the women pounded Wales 21-3 with 15 points and 11 rebounds by Canadian flag-bearer Kady Dandeneau. The Canadian men’s semifinal is at 8 a.m. ET and the women’s at 9:30 a.m. ET. The gold- and bronze-medal games go later in the day.

    * Two Canadian boxers can clinch a medal (colour TBD) by winning their quarterfinal bouts. Amber-Jane Wall (women’s 51kg weight class) fights at 7 a.m. ET and Joshua Ofori (men’s 80kg) at 9:45 a.m. ET.

    * Canada has an athlete in all three weightlifting events: Rosalie Dumas in the women’s 77kg division at 4:30 a.m. ET,  Alex Bellemarre in the men’s 94kg at 9 a.m. ET and Rose Beaudoin in the women’s 86kg at 1:30 p.m. ET.
