St Vincent and the Grenadines’ team to the 2026 CBN/ Winlott Inc. Windward Islands Schools’ Games (WISG) heads out to Castries, St Lucia, for the July 25 to August 1, multi- sport event, hopeful of not remaining in last place as has been the norm for the past three editions: 2019, 2023 and 2025.
That hope comes from what officials say are “improved preparations, innovations and incentives”.
Hoping to turn the tables and fortunes are 62 athletes who have been selected for the five disciplines.
Named in the Athletics squad are AJ Delplesche, Jadelle Hector, Leemore Ollivierre, Teron Muckette , Neovor Nanton, Kobe Ollivierre , Kenneth Gurley, Trevel Sylvan , Kareem Davis, Kenesha Richards, Aria Carter, Toccara Barbour, Ayah Stepleton, Ariel Stephens, Zekisha Kelly, Kylar Jeffery and Kesiann John.
Delplesche and John are the male and female captains, respectively. Khalil Cato serves as the Head Coach.
Making up the Netball selectees are Jueneka Quow, Giada Small, Ketonna Campbell, Nickyla Tannis, Oliva John, Amunique Edwards, Tahila James and Kalia Wyllie.
Quow has been named captain, with Jannett Christopher, the coach.
Meanwhile, Dimitri Thomas leads the Football outfit, that also includes Taariq Small, Mozrany Harry, Dinesh Grant, Lazaro Lynch, X-avier Jack, Glenroy Layne, Gabriel Doyle, Kevion Clarke, Tyrique Stephens, Imani Miller and Juemar Luke. Responsible for the team’s tactics is Kevin Francis.
For Volleyball, the male team comprises Joshua Nicholls (captain), along with Waynel Lewis, Zane Walsh, Jason Ja Debique, Kevin Franklyn, Shawn Slater, Kyjon Williams and Tyson Dalzell.
The females are Nayelli Fergus (captain), Reanna Robinson, London Jackson, Nathahllia Mathews, Maxianna Dublin and Freida Prescott. Nikita Campbell- Cumberbatch is the Volleyball Coach, with Ronaldo Franklyn, her assistant.
Basketball Male and Female complete the disciplines., with the male team comprised of Jemari Ross, Jaden Adams (captain), Shay Martin, Ronaldo Bobb, Elvis Wood, Andre Quashie and Jaden Gonsalves and the females- Ceronique Mitchell (captain), Darielle Ollivierre, Azumi Quow and Kathryn Cumberbatch.
Vasha Adams is the Basketball Coach, assisted by Rolando Franklyn.
