The Office of the Trade Commissioner of the Republic of Nauru to the United Arab Emirates has announced the launch of the Pacific Digital Assets Forum (PDAF), the first regional platform dedicated exclusively to digital assets and digital finance across the Pacific.
The Forum has been established to promote responsible regulation, informed policy dialogue and international collaboration in the fast‑growing digital asset sector.
Two flagship initiatives will debut in the fourth quarter of 2027: the Pacific Digital Assets Report, an annual publication examining regulatory developments and market trends, and the Pacific Digital Assets Conference, a regional event that will rotate between Pacific Island nations.
The Report will also introduce the Pacific Digital Assets Regulatory Index, providing a comparative assessment of regulatory progress across jurisdictions.
Trade Commissioner Dadvan Yousuf will serve as Founding Chair of the Forum.
Nominations are now open for the inaugural Advisory Board, which will provide independent strategic guidance and support long‑term development.
Yousuf said effective regulation is essential to building confidence in innovation.
“Effective regulation is not a barrier to innovation – it is what gives innovation the confidence to grow. As jurisdictions around the world develop frameworks for digital assets, the Pacific should also have a platform that supports informed discussion, independent research and meaningful international cooperation. The Pacific Digital Assets Forum has been established with that long‑term vision in mind,” he said.
PDAF will operate as an independent initiative focused on education, research and international engagement.
Its publications and activities are intended to support informed discussion and do not represent official government policy unless expressly stated.
