Algeria offers its pharmaceutical expertise to Congo – Al-Shorouk Online

Today, Tuesday, the Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Dr. Wassim Kouidari, received the Minister of Cooperation and Partnership Development between the Public and Private Sectors of the Republic of the Congo, Denis Christelle Sassou Nguesso, where the two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and explore new horizons for partnership in the field of the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on transferring expertise and developing joint industrial projects..

The meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Pharmaceutical Industry, was an opportunity to review the reality of the pharmaceutical industry in Algeria and the development it has achieved in recent years, especially in the field of local production of essential medicines, in addition to establishing a regulatory system that responds to the highest international standards, thus enhancing the quality of the Algerian pharmaceutical product and raising its competitiveness.

The Congolese minister expressed his country’s desire to benefit from the Algerian experience in developing the pharmaceutical industry, especially in the areas of raising production capabilities, transferring expertise and technology, and building competencies, allowing the needs of the Congolese market to be met.

For his part, Koudri stressed Algeria’s ability to meet the needs of the Congolese market for medicines through national industrial units, given the capabilities available in the field of manufacturing, with a willingness to transfer experience and knowledge to enable the Congolese side to control production chains, in addition to studying the possibility of launching joint industrial projects in the future.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the two parties agreed to work to advance bilateral cooperation to the level of a strategic partnership between economic operators in the two countries, through encouraging investment and establishing joint projects that contribute to enhancing pharmaceutical security at the level of the African continent.
