U Myo Thant, chairman of the Service Development Committee of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI), stated that committee members must invest time and effort into their tasks to ensure high-quality results, during the (3/2026) coordination meeting, held on 3 July at the UMFCCI headquarters.
In his opening address, he noted: “As sub-working groups have been formed, members are required to submit monthly reports. The requirements submitted by members will be presented to the UMFCCI secretary-general and chairman, and subsequently submitted to the government for further assistance.”
During the meeting, participants discussed and presented on various topics, including future plans for the media sector, progress reports from sub-sectors such as IT, Banking, Public Services, Health Care, Education, and Art & Craft Jewellery, and current challenges in border trade and the transportation, particularly those stemming from fuel supply issues.
Following the feedback by the chairman and secretaries, it was decided that technical challenges would be forwarded to the Committee on Technology and Innovation for further consultation, according to the UMFCCI statement.
