The remains of the veteran journalist, self-styled as “The Most Expensive Man” and “The Most Beautiful Man”will be exhibited starting at 5 pm this Tuesday at the Blandino Funeral Home on Abraham Lincoln Avenue, in the National District.
On Thursday, the family will hold a body mass in that same place, starting at 9 in the morning, to finally give him a Christian burial at 11 in the morning.
Throughout his career, he became one of the most influential figures in entertainment journalism, an area in which he left numerous journalistic writings in the defunct newspaper Última Hora, as well as in his books “History and evolution of merengue” and “Bachata: history and evolution.”
Born on December 30, 1950 in Vicente Noble, Barahona province, Batista began his career in communication at Última Hora, serving as editor of the entertainment section, of the magazine “La Tarde Alegre” and of its column “Escenario”.
