The average salary in Tajikistan in April 2026 was 3262.7 somoni. By according to the Statistics Agency under the President of Tajikistan, the average nominal salary in April 2026 increased by 20.3% compared to April last year.
Real wages, that is, wages taking into account rising prices, increased by 16.1% over the same period. This means that workers’ incomes grew faster than inflation.
The nominal salary for January–April 2026 was 3197.2 somoni.
Where do they pay the most?
In April 2026, the average salary in the real sector of the economy was 3482.8 somoni, and in the service sector – 3201.7 somoni. In both cases this is higher than a year earlier.
The highest wages in the real sector were in electricity, gas and steam, and the lowest in agriculture, forestry and fishing.
In the services sector, workers in the financial and insurance sectors received the most. High salaries are also recorded in information and communications.
In the social sector, the average salary in education was higher than in health care and social services.
Wage arrears have decreased
By the end of April, wage arrears in Tajikistan amounted to 14.2 million somoni. In a month it decreased by almost a quarter. Most of the debt fell on the real sector of the economy. In the service sector, wage debts decreased more noticeably – by more than 40%.
Among industries, the main debt remained in agriculture, forestry and fisheries, as well as in transport activities and cargo storage.
By region, the largest wage debts were in the Sughd region and Dushanbe. Smaller amounts of debt were recorded in areas of republican subordination and Khatlon region.
Tajikistan is in 138th place in the world ranking of net salaries
Internationally ranking of average monthly net salaries for 2025, published by CEOWORLD Magazine, Tajikistan ranked 138th. According to the ranking, the average net salary after taxes in Tajikistan was $276 per month.
Among Central Asian countries, Kazakhstan took 77th place with an average net salary of $780, Turkmenistan — 80th place with $761, Uzbekistan — 117th place with $458, Kyrgyzstan — 132nd place with $335.
The authors of the rating note that when comparing salaries across countries, it is important to take into account inflation, cost of living, state of the labor market and employment structure.
