The opening also marks the arrival of Marriott International in Taghazout Bay. Designed as a contemporary resort open to theAtlantic Oceanthe establishment focuses on an offer combining well-being, leisure, gastronomy and local roots in order to attract a national and international clientele looking for high-end experiences.
In recent years, Taghazout Bay has established itself as one of the most ambitious tourist projects in the Kingdom, built around an offer combining sport, nature, well-being and leisure. With this new opening, the destination’s accommodation capacity now reaches 4,800 beds, consolidating its positioning in the premium tourism segment.
The new resort has 250 rooms, including 29 suites with terrace or balcony, offering views of the ocean, gardens or swimming pools. Its architecture and decoration are inspired by the landscapes of the Moroccan Atlantic coast and highlight natural materials as well as the know-how of local artisans, in a desire to include the hotel experience in the identity of Taghazout Bay.
The catering offer is structured around three complementary concepts: Rivage, dedicated to Mediterranean flavors, Salt&Lime, inspired by the Californian and Mexican coasts, and Brasa, a signature restaurant focused on Mediterranean cuisines. The establishment also offers four outdoor swimming pools, two padel courts, a gym and several relaxation areas. A spa and a Kids’ Club will complete the offer during a second phase of development planned for this summer.
The complex also intends to position itself on the business tourism market. It notably has a 450 m² ballroom, which can accommodate up to 540 people, as well as several spaces dedicated to meetings, conferences and professional events.
For Marriott International, this opening constitutes an important step in its development in Morocco. “The opening of the Taghazout Bay Marriott Resort represents a major milestone for Marriott Hotels in Morocco, since it is the very first Marriott Resort in the Kingdom,” underlines Ronny Maier, Regional Vice President Southern Europe & Northwest Africa of Marriott International, who sees in this project an illustration of Morocco’s tourism potential and the growing attractiveness of Taghazout Bay to international travelers.
Same story with Denis Laus, General Manager of the Taghazout Bay Marriott Resort, who indicates that this opening is part of a broader dynamic which accompanies the evolution of Taghazout Bay as an international destination focused on well-being and the contemporary art of living. “We imagined a place open to its environment, where design, gastronomy and life experiences naturally dialogue with the identity of the region. The ambition was to create a warm and contemporary address, capable of offering a new way of discovering the Moroccan Atlantic coast, through hospitality anchored in conviviality and local authenticity,” he says.
