MOLODECHNO, 25 June (BelTA) – A meeting of the Belarus-Russia Union State Standardization and Quality Committee has kicked off in Molodechno, BelTA has learned.
The creation of the Union State Standardization and Quality Committee was initiated by the Belarusian side: the State Committee for Standardization (Gosstandart). In February 2026, the presidents of Belarus and Russia approved this proposal at the Union State Supreme State Council meeting.
The Committee is viewed as a platform where government bodies, relevant organizations, and experts can discuss problematic issues related to mutual product supplies, enabling their prompt resolution at the expert level. It will also develop recommendations for Belarusian and Russian organizations to improve the quality and competitiveness of manufactured products.
The Committee’s work is particularly relevant due to the initiative to assign products the status of Union State Goods.
Attending the meeting are representatives of the Permanent Committee of the Union State, sectoral government bodies, and their organizations. Representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission have also been invited.
The meeting will present the algorithm and work plan of the Union State Standardization and Quality Committee for 2026-2027. Participants will review the progress of Union State standardization plans. Currently, five plans have been signed and are being implemented: in baby food, energy saving and energy efficiency, freight vehicles, electric buses, and machine tool building. Approaches to forming and maintaining the Union State standards fund and future standardization plans will also be discussed.
The meeting will conclude with the signing of two new Union State standardization plans: an updated plan in the baby food sector and a new plan in micro- and millimeter-wave electronics.
