The Government of the Dominican Republic sent a shipment of humanitarian aid by sea to the communities affected by the earthquake that occurred in Venezuela, as part of the Quisqueya Solidarity Operation 2026.
The aid was embarked on the ship K MARINE V, which set sail from the Río Haina Port carrying non-perishable foods, hydration products and medications, with the purpose of contributing to addressing the most urgent needs of the affected population.
“This shipment represents the result of a broad coordination effort between State institutions, the private sector, the media and civil society, managing to unite the solidarity of thousands of Dominicans and of Venezuelan citizens residing in the country in favor of the victims of this tragedy,” reported the Presidency of the Republic in a press release.
According to the information, the food, hydration products and basic necessities were received at the collection center enabled by the Dominican Government in the Naval Base 27 de Febrero, in San Soucí, while the medications were concentrated, classified and prepared for shipment in the San Isidro Air Base.
Likewise, this shipment incorporates the donations received in the collection centers established by the Rannik Group and the Sambil shopping center, initiatives that had the response of companies, public and private institutions, civil society organizations and citizens.
Likewise, the supplies collected during the radio telethon “Today for Venezuela”organized by the State Radio and Television Corporation (CERTV) with the participation of various Dominican media outlets.
This aid is in addition to the deployment of specialized search and rescue teams, the sending of medicines and support material for emergency operations, assistance to Dominican citizens in Venezuelan territory and the continuous supply of humanitarian aid.
