“During the investigation, various versions were checked: from technological infrastructure and rolling stock maintenance to external intervention. The findings of the investigation confirmed that in the case of Jiesia, the accident was caused by the actions of the railway station guard. Meanwhile, the accident in Gudžiūnai was caused by a defect in the axle box, and later its collapse in the section where the automatic control system of the rolling stock was turned off,” the report reads.
