KUWAIT CITY, Jun 28: Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has arrested three juveniles after investigating a widely circulated video showing the assault of a teenager inside a public restroom in the Salmiya area.
The ministry said the Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Department of Criminal Investigation, launched an investigation as part of its ongoing efforts to monitor content circulating on social media platforms.
Investigators identified and apprehended the individuals involved, all of whom are Kuwaiti juveniles. During questioning, the first suspect, aged 17, admitted to physically assaulting the 17-year-old victim. A second suspect, aged 16, confessed to filming the incident, while a third 17-year-old admitted to uploading the video to social media.
The three suspects have been referred to the Juvenile Prosecution to complete the necessary legal procedures.
The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to taking firm action against anyone who violates the law or endangers the safety and security of others. It also urged parents to monitor their children’s behavior and provide proper guidance to help prevent such incidents and protect them from legal consequences.
