The accident occurred shortly before 7 p.m. on the road from Regensdorf via Winiger to Weiningen. The 18-year-old Swiss was driving a rental car with around 400 hp when he lost control of the vehicle in a hairpin bend.
Investigations are ongoing
The car initially stalled into the oncoming lane and then came off the road to the right. The car rolled over once in the steep meadow and finally came to a rest on its wheels.
The Zurich cantonal police secured the evidence and initiated an investigation. These are intended to clarify, among other things, the speed at which the new driver was traveling and whether the vehicle’s assistance systems were switched off.

In addition to the cantonal police, the Weiningen fire department and the Limmattal hospital rescue service were on duty.
