A scary-looking accident on the D1 highway near Brno ended almost miraculously. The Tatra truck stopped on an incline in the lane for slow vehicles due to a technical fault and its driver was trying to fix it. A few minutes later, a foreign van crashed into the parked truck at high speed without any sign of braking. At the time of the collision, the driver of the Tatra was directly under the vehicle, but both men miraculously survived the accident.
At the same time, the footage shows the exemplary reaction of other drivers who immediately stopped and rushed to provide first aid. Special praise is especially due to two women who bravely put on reflective vests and moved the injured safely along the roadside.
Police officers remind that accidents caused by inattention on the highways around Brno are frequent and often end tragically. In connection with the upcoming motorcycle world championships, they expect denser traffic during the weekend, therefore they call on drivers to be as focused as possible and to expect the possible formation of queues.
