The son of the former footballer Ilie Dumitrescuknown as Toto Dumitrescuwas hospitalized, on Tuesday evening, at the Obregia Hospital, after causing a scandal in a shop in District 4 and arguing with his concubine.

“On June 21, 2026, around 6:00 p.m., a woman notified, through the National Single Emergency Call System 112, the fact that a man entered a store located in Sector 4 of the city of Bucharest and, through acts of violence, destroyed and overturned several products displayed for sale. At the same time, the caller reported that, after leaving the store, the man allegedly had a altercation with a woman on the street”, the Capital Police reported on Tuesday evening.

Judicial sources specified, for News.ro, that the man is Toto Dumitrescu, the son of Ilie Dumitrescu.

He was agitated, refusing to cooperate with the police to clarify the factual situation.

“Under these conditions, in order to prevent new incidents and for the safety of the people around him, he was immobilized and transported to the “Alexandru Obregia” Clinical Psychiatry Hospital, where the doctor on duty ordered his admission”, the Capital Police also transmitted.

The police also identified the woman with whom he allegedly had the altercation, establishing that she is the man’s concubine.

“He did not wish to file a prior complaint, did not request the issuance of a provisional protection order, refused to fill out the risk assessment form and did not request the provision of medical care,” the Police state.

In the case, a criminal file was drawn up ex officio, under the aspect of committing the crimes of disturbing public order and peace and family violence.
