The Fidesz-KDNP faction in Győr is headed by Tímea Laczkovits-Takács from today – it is clear from the party’s statement. Laczkovits-Takács replaces Dávid Fekete, who received 36.97 percent in the election.
Tímea Laczkovits-Takács own page has represented his district in the city assembly since 2010. He is also a PhD student at István Széchenyi University and the Department of Social Studies and Sociology assistant professor.
According to the Facebook post, Fekete was preparing to leave the position anyway, as he only assumed leadership of the faction until the parliamentary elections. He was a former deputy mayor of Zsolt Borkai Fekete and has been a municipal representative since 2010. Political life in Győr has been turbulent since the municipal election in 2024, as the Fidesz-KDNP faction regularly obstructs the work of the independent mayor, Bence Pintér.
