On Saturday, Orlen reduced its wholesale fuel prices, including Ecodiesel diesel by PLN 143 and Eurosuper 95 unleaded gasoline by PLN 35 per cubic meter – according to data published by the company. In the case of Ecodiesel, this marks the fifth wholesale price cut by Orlen this week.
According to the company’s wholesale price list, on Saturday Ecodiesel diesel costs PLN 6,104 per cubic meter, which is PLN 143 less than the previous day, while Eurosuper 95 unleaded gasoline costs PLN 5,252 per cubic meter, down PLN 35 compared to the previous day.
For Ecodiesel diesel, Saturday’s reduction is the fifth this week – in addition to Friday’s drop, the fuel had already become cheaper earlier: by PLN 155 on Tuesday, PLN 167 on Wednesday, and PLN 52 on Thursday per cubic meter. Compared to the wholesale price from a week earlier, on Saturday, April 11, it is now PLN 616 cheaper – at that time, the price stood at PLN 6,720 per cubic meter.
Since March 31, maximum fuel prices have been in force at all stations across Poland, introduced temporarily as part of the government’s regulatory package “Lower Fuel Prices,” aimed at limiting price increases for these products. These prices are set based on the average wholesale price of fuels on the domestic market, increased by excise duty, the fuel surcharge, a retail margin of PLN 0.30 per liter, and VAT.
According to a notice from the Ministry of Energy on maximum prices, from Saturday through Monday inclusive, a liter of unleaded 95 gasoline may cost no more than PLN 6.03, unleaded 98 gasoline PLN 6.57, and diesel fuel PLN 7.07. This means these fuels will be cheaper at stations compared to Friday, when the maximum price for unleaded 95 gasoline was PLN 6.04, unleaded 98 gasoline PLN 6.59, and diesel fuel PLN 7.18.
Maximum fuel prices are announced daily by the Ministry of Energy, but they come into force the day after publication in the Polish official gazette, Monitor Polski. When announced ahead of weekends or public holidays, they remain in effect until the next working day inclusive.
